The Original - Galway Country Boot
Warm, waterproof, and breathable, the iconic Dubarry Galway leather country boot is made with DryFast-DrySoft™ leather and lined with GORE-TEX technology. The Galway Country boot, formerly known as the Huntsman boot, was developed alongside its shorter companion, the Kildare Country Boot, previously referred to as the Huntima, following the success of the Shamrock Sailing boot. It was discovered that many customers were wearing the boots, made for the professional sailing market, during outdoor pursuits such as dog walking and in equestrian settings.
The Galway Country Boots feature extremely comfortable and shock-absorbing soles, making them ideal for crossing rough and wet terrain. They are available in contrasting colours and materials. The knee-high Galway boot has been adapted for everyone, offering ExtraFit™ and Slim Fit™ calf widths.
The Making of the Iconic Galway Country Boot
Shorter Boots
The Kildare, formerly known as the Huntima, and the Roscommon mid-height country boot are easy-to-wear, pull-on waterproof boots. The Kildare bears resemblance to its taller companion boot, the original Galway Country boot. However, the Kildare differs from the Galway in that it is a calf-height boot, with the top of the boot usually finishing just above a person's calf, whereas the opening of the Galway extends further up the wearer’s leg.
Featuring shock-absorbing soles and a breathable, soft leather exterior, along with a comfortable elasticated leg panel and finger pull, all three boots—the Kildare, the Roscommon, and the Antrim—are ideal for Gardeners and those who prioritise the ease of getting them on and off over the ability to take the boots in to long grass, where full length boots excel.
Adjustable Boots
The adjustable country boots, Dunmore and Duncannon, stretch and adapt to different calf sizes using adjustable features such as the adjustable strap on the Duncannon or the adjustable buckle fastening on the Dunmore. Their stylish appearance is complemented by their performance, as GORE-TEX technology, DryFast-DrySoft™ leathers, and strongly bonded soles provide warm, waterproof, and durable boots. The Dunmore boot is available in women's sizing ranging from EU 35 to 43, while the Duncannon has unisex sizing ranging EU 37 to 47. These adjustable boots offers wearers additional comfort and appearance options, as the buckle can be tightened or loosened depending on the user's preference. For instance, a person with skinnier legs may want to tighten the buckle for a neater look, or if the person has a wider calf, they can loosen the buckle.
Side Zip Boots
The Dubarry Wexford and Sligo leather country boots are warm, waterproof and breathable with a side zip for easy fitting. Made with DryFast-DrySoft™ leather and lined with GORE-TEX, they have strongly bonded soles making them extremely comfortable and shock absorbing, ideal for crossing rough and wet terrain. Dubarry's side zip boots usually suit those with a slimmer calf who wouldn't be able to insert their foot into a boot of the right width without the zip entry.
Fur Lined Boots (Faux Fur)
Based on the iconic country boot but purpose designed to excel in snowy conditions, these high performance Après ski boots are made with the same soft, breathable leather and shock absorbing soles but are four times as warm for freezing temperatures. We have introduced a fully faux fur lining for additional warmth and to prevent snow getting in, while a special thermal footbed keeps feet toasty warm.
Heeled Boots
The heeled leather country boots combine great performance with distinctive design and a more elegant silhouette. GORE-TEX lining ensures the heeled boots are waterproof but breathable and a purpose designed sole gives shock absorbing comfort. Boots are pulled on, helped by discreet finger pulls and an elasticated heel panel and made in soft leather with a DryFast-DrySoft™ finish.
Repairs Information
Dubarry’s Country Boots are built to last. If they sustain damage beyond warranty, we recommend our endorsed repair experts, The Boot Repair Company. Their services include Complete Sole Unit repair for sole detachment, relacing for snapped or missing laces, and seam stitching where the boots are re-stitched and re-assembled.
